I finally got around to installing my Mazdaspeed Motorsports engine mounts (supposedly 60% stiffer). It's probably a good thing I replaced them because this is what I discovered:
This is a comparison of the old mount to a new one (obviously). The driver's side mount had completely separated and the engine was more or less floating around on that side. The funny thing is, that there were no obvious signs of a broken mount until I dissassembled it.
I can feel a bit more vibration throughout the car now and the engine doesn't rock as much. What a pain in the ass this project was (especially the driver's side), but at least I finally completed it, heh.
