Hello everyone...new to the board, and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the 3 at some local dealerships. Somewhere on this forum (I think), there was a mention of a NJ dealer - Maple Shade Mazda - that listed incoming Mazda 3 inventory on their website (
www.msmazda.com - you have to click on the Protege - the Mazda 3 listings are down the page.) I sent an e-mail requesting pricing info and got a quick reply from their internet manager (don't remember his name). I asked for MSRP on the following two cars:
2004 Mazda 3 S Sedan 5-Speed, AC, Stereo/6 CD Changer, Power Steering, Power Brakes, 4 cyl, Power Windows, Power Mirrors, Power Locks, Moonroof,
Sport Pkg.COLOR -Sunlight Silver Metallic REF# *3179
MSRP $18205
---------------------------------
2004 Mazda 3 Hatchback 5 Speed, AC, Stereo/6 CD Changer, Power Steering, Power Brakes, 4 cyl, Power Windows, Power Mirrors, Power Locks, Moonroof,
ABS w/Side Airbags. COLOR -Sunlight Silver Metallic REF# *3174
MSRP $19005
I also asked if they would be prepared to deal on these prices, and the response was "too early to say". They expect the cars sometime in mid-late October.
This is going to be really tough - also considering an 04' Jetta Wagon TDI (I know what you're thinking...a diesel??) but for 04', the TDI gets bumped to 100hp and 177lb ft of torque(!)... AND almost 60MPG!!! But then again the new 3 looks so promising...and more sporting than the VW. Decisions, decisions...
