Odd noise at half throttle

I noticed the other day while driving beside a NJ barrier a noise, almost like metal rattling around somewhere in the tranny or engine... The car had been on over half an hour, and oil/coolant was perfectly warm, and it seemed to happen between quarter and half throttle, under moderate to hard acceleration, near 3500 - 4500 RPM.

I was just wondering if anyone else had that problem, or knew what it was? Thanks, guys. =)

ive got a metal rattle now after 10000 miles. i get it under just over slight acceleration mainly in 5th gear.

ill have to get under the car and check the heat shield. i would be supprised if it wasnt the heatshield.

Yeah, I guess I'll have to get my lazy ass in gear and put the car up on jackstands to take a look myself. =) I really do hope it is just that, as I've been having nightmares as to what it COULD be. Uugh.
