RX8 engine swap

Kind of random question I have been thinking about lately.

Would it be possible to put the renesis in a mid 90's RX7? Those, IMO, are sexier cars than the 8's. And since the renesis is so much more powerful and reliable I think it would be a logical switch.

You kids got any ideas?

well it'll have to wait, as all the RENESIS engines being built right now are going into new RX-8s.

crate motors won't be available for a while, but once they are, you bet someone in Japan will make the transplant first, and bring the know-how overseas eventually.

nah, crate motors have been released for thr US market,... the P/n's are availabel to the dealers for them to order already..

I'm sure you could bolt that in... But getting an intake/exhaust manifold made is going to be entirely custome right now (i.e $$$$$) and part of teh big power gains in the 8's dual length intake path, I'm sure you won't be able to get that system to work...

Oh yeah, did I say that dealer cost for the crates is like 5500? Figure your cost would be $6k+
