Snowboard Roof Racks

S

Snomongoose

I actually called Thule today at work to find out alittle more
details about the FM1. I happened to go snowboarding alot (about 30
days a year).

With the terrible year I have been having (work, work and no snow in
the Southeastern PA region). I finally took my first run the the
mountains (ok hills). After loading my board into the back of the
car I found out how short the interior really is (I own a 162cm
board).

Definately needed a rack for the snowboard. Went to a couple local
shops that carry Yakima, and being told I don't know what I'm
talking about, a p5 doesn't come with a roof rack (I know, I know
Canadian p5's don't) and it would cost over $350 for a rack.

Called Thule and the FM1 (Fat Mouth clamp) would fit my car, but
they say it's for winter gear (skis, poles and snowboards). $20
bucks for clamps. $99 for the rack (Looks like it will hold 4 boards
back to back). Locks $20.

The only problem with the kit is that universal kinda has some
hidden meanings to it. No P5 listed, what else is new. After calling
Thule and getting where to put the rubber blocks in and seeing it
wouldn't fit at all, I figured out (after and hour of playing) where
the rubber blocks go. So if you want the positions, just drop me an
e-mail. Happy driving or riding.
