what do i check for?

its a 91, 5spd, has an exhaust leak and back end damage (bumper smashed, owner backed into light pole)

the car runs and drives fine
the kid lives 5 houses down from me, its got 100,000 miles
he bought an Extreme truck or whatever, and just wants to get rid of it...

for $800, i cant see why i should pass this up....

any known major problems with this gen? i think its a '91.

take it in a get a comp. check to see how the motor is doing, if its with in specs grab it--

I'd suggest checking the compression as well and all the electrical stuff. Sunroof and windshield wipers and windows. lol.

Also, that car can be parted out easily. It has the good taillights and mirrors as well as front and rear bumpers. Take a pic of the car and show us the damage and so forth. Both FC boy and I have these cars so I'm sure we can be of great help.

If you can, try to find out if its ever overheated too. Rotary + overheating = bad. Otherwise, $800 for a beater car isn't that bad. In non-turbo form, those rotaries are supposed to be pretty indestructable ...

it would more than pay for itself if you part it out (the good parts that is)

but if you actually want to drive it, check compression first

preferably using a Mazda shop compression tester.

Post some pics and we can check it out, if it is a '91 it will have the round taillights-

buy it and if you don't like it, myself and Adam and my brother will buy it from you for a profit :D i swear to god, man.
