i am planning on lowering my P5 and i haven't decide if i will install the springs myself of have someone else do it. any suggestions? also, a guy at Kaufman Tire told me to replace the struts too. is this bulls***? i think he was trying to sell me something. my friends and i have lowered cars before and never replaced anything but springs.

Changing out the springs is very easy. If you have replaced before on other cars, you should be fine, just be sure to get a spring compressor. Most places rent them and give you your money back when you return them (Pepe Boys, Advanced Auto Parts, etc). You do not have to replace the struts if they are still in good condition. They will however wear out much quicker on the lower car as they are not designed to function the way they will when the car is lower. Good Luck.
