Do your rear windows roll all the way down??

Greeting All,

Just curious if your P5's rear windows roll ALL the way down. As I recall the sales person (politically correct :D ) was surprised that my rear windows did not have that safety feature that stops the window when its about half way down.

Mine do not hide in the door panel, they leave about 1 inch out in the open.

haha I've noticed that Sales people at dealerships are suprised by just about everything, I mean....I knew infinitely more about our car before I even stepped on the lot than the guy who sold it to me. Maby I should apply for a job there..... Anyways, mind don't go down all the way But they do go down enough that you can stick your arm out the window wich is very nice for cruising. I think the reason they do go down so far, is if you look at the whole rear door and window, there is that metal strip and that piece of window that dose not come down... well that is because the way the door is shaped around the rear wheelwell, the window would not be able to come down even half way if it was all one sheet of glass. But if they split it the way they did, what's left over can go almost all the way down. I are smart. :D

I'm driving the Canadian version and the rear windows drop until there is an inch left exposed, just like the American. I thought all the p5's dropped that far. The reasoning I belive is that the p5 has a child saftey lock on the driver side power window controls, so Mazda could justify not having child safety windows in back. At least that's what my guess would be.

MINE AS WELL GO DOWN LEAVING ABOUT AN INCH LEFT SHOWING WHICH KINDA SUCKS TO ME BUT HEY ITS BETTER THAN A HONDA WHICH ONLY GOES DOWN HALFWAY.........

the reason the windows go down almost all the way is because the can fit in the door where as most cars the back wheels make it so that the door can't be made to fit the whole window

yeah i think most of us knew that.......but there are cars that the back windows go down all the way my jetta's windows went down all the way

I think that "safety feature" is a bunch of BS. I think they just say that because the window cant go all the way down due to the door being shaped like the wheel well in the bottom corner.

in most cases that is true that they wont go down because of the back wheels..........but it doesnt bother me cause if i am sitting in the back of my own car there is something wrong.......... so why worry about the back windows.............

no kiddin' If I'm in the backseat then the windows should be up and steamy. Then again so should I be at that point :D

Actually my rear windows fold in-ward..Nah, they leave about a little over an inch. Is that suppose to be a bad thing.? :D

again does it matter if they go down all the way or not no and yes they leave about an inch of window left its because of the rear wheel well........... and the shape of the door man come on look at it and figureit out.........
