tire pressure

hey everyone, i'm new to this site, i've been reading the earlier posts i like the atmosphere here. i have a red one by the way, i've had it since aug 2001 and i'm happy with it so far. anyways my question is; what is the recommended tire pressure on the stock tires,i know that it says 51psi max and i've had them at 40psi since i've had the car, does anyone have it higher or lower,

p.s. i've tried registering here but it keeps saying; your logon password has been mailed to your e-mail address but nothing shows up did anyone have any problems with that?

I have been running mine at 35PSI in the front and 36PSI in the Rear. I tried 44PSI all around as well as 32PSI, and seem to have the best mix of performance/highway ride with the 35/36 combo. Hope this helps.

Yep, I'm running at 36 PSI and it's the best balance between ride comfort and handling.

Had the car since Oct 01 and so far, not much tire wear noticed.
