Greay Navi Experience

:
2016.5 Mazda CX-5 GT
I updated the Navi Map last week and gave it a try yesterday. I live in North Central Baltimore and wanted to go to a location in West Baltimore County near the City line. The problem for the nav system was that the trip origin and destination are in completely different grid plans with routing possibilities from Interstate links most of the way to arterials to local streets. The Navi in my last car, a Gen2 2010 Prius, would have selected either a mostly interstate route or an interstate + major arterial route. The Mazda (2016.5 AWD GT + iActive) navi eschewed the interstate links, kept me on collectors, a minor and a major arterial, and local streets. I pretty much knew where I was going, just wanted to test the system. I'm a retired transportation planner and was very pleased, indeed.
Perhaps the best feature in the Mazda system, however, is that the "cancel route" button is right at the bottom of the screen. That function was hidden under several screens on the Prius!
