Replacing/Painting interior chrome pieces

I've seen where some people have plasti dipped or painted the vent trim black, but I've searched and I can't find anyone that did the same to the chrome piece around the gearshift. I'm getting blinded by this piece reflecting sunlight daily. I'd also like to do the trim around the center vents. I'm wondering if anyone has any insight regarding this.

I mentioned there you can buy kits to replace any part of the trim in your car and make it look any way you want, like any kind of exotic wood, carbon fiber, solid metal, etc.

Except I need it for a 2016, which has a different trim piece surround the gearshift. Also, why would I want to buy that kit for $128 when all I need is the one piece?

I just clicked on their link from google photos of "cx-5 interior trim replacement search".
On their site just change it to 2016.
And I'm guessing if you just wanted one piece you could contact the company and get the one piece you would want. And if they won't sell that once piece, there are other companies that might want your business more.
