Tibimaki Build Thread

I'm curious and interested. Primarily, because Chris always takes it over the top, and in good taste.

Edit: What is a Tibimaki build? At first I figured it was some exotic Japanese accessory supplier Chris sourced, but I see now there is a forum member named such.

Come on Chris, I won't do stuff like you do.
I did quite a few mods to my car, but nothing expensive(like you).
Lowered the car on Corcksport springs.
Made my own lateral links to have the factory specs.
Installed a Kenwood DNN991HD(android based nav unit), which is OK, but not great. It can mirror my phone's screen to it, via an HDMI cord.
I have installed an aftermarket auto dimming mirror with compass.
MiniPro 0805 dash cam, soldered the wires to the mirror's wires.
Installed an Escort Redline, with a home made aluminum bracket(just pushed it up into a bracket, that is mounted the sun glass holder).
The Smart Cord for the Redline, is installed in the little cubby hole storage.
Applied some shiny bits on the vents, door handles, around door opener's frame, around the shifter.
I have just placed an order, for wheel valve nuts and door button aluminum (shiny)bits.
I have installed a LED into the door opener button, color does not mach and it's dimmer then the original one.(need to come back to this project at a later time)
Replaced all the speakers with two sets of Infinity Primus componets and 3.5" Polk Audios in the dash.
I have made my own custom subwoofer, in the spare wheel, very cheap and effective. I wanted to keep the spare wheel, but I needed the space as well. It's not pretty, but I get compliments on the street, as I stop at the stop light.
I'm using, a shallow JLAudio 10" sub.
I have picked up two broken Polk Audio amps from Ebay for $40 each, one for the door speakers and the other for the sub. I have repaired them and installed them in my car under both front seats.
Ran 0 gauge wires from the battery up to my driver seat and before the amps, I have divided the wires into 4 gauge wires. Course I have fuses at the battery and before each amp as well.
Amps are raised with spacers, for better cooling and not blocking the vents.
Still need to find a proper space for my Note3, where I can plug it in, in a cradle type mount. I don't want to use wires. This cradle will be connected not to the USB for charging, it will be for mirroring to my stereo.
By the way, I have a wireless charging already in my cup holder type mount.
I have picked up some aftermarket Audi wheels(5 Arm rotor wheels from the RS cars), for $355 all four.
Machined the bore hole for our cars and I have also removed, two more millimeters to make them 42mm offset.
Had some scratches, so I had to re-paint them, but unfortunately I have chosen the wrong painter. I still have to re do them myself, but is to hot to work on them.
I already have the Hankook Ventus tires for them. 245/45R20.
I have modified my fog lights, to accept a (cheap)projector kit in them, using H3 HID kit.
I still need to install them.
I have installed a cheap Chinese HID kit, with big ballasts, which I think are much better, then the slim ones. I had them, for over a year and a half and they still work great.
I still have to install the relay kit for them, but they work well even without them.
I have forgot about the passenger side mirror camera, that points down to the sidewalk. Activates by going backwards and I have to push an input on my stereo.
Eventually, I will install a front camera as well.

Tib it's not so much to show who has the most money spent on their build, but to see what everyone is doing so that others may have a guideline if they want to make similar changes. It's a good way to share useful information with the community :).
You definitely have some well implemented mods that others would be interested in.

Good choice. To be honest I don't think you would have been happy painting them red. I saw a white cx5 with red wheels on facebook and it didn't flow well to me.

Looks like you've put in quite a bit of work on the car, nice job. Like the Audi wheels too, now you've got me thinking about a "snow" setup. Oh, and the pic's of your audio tuning setup took me back to my childhood, my dad was an EE and did a lot of tinkering in A/V. (thumb)

At the end, I did not want to paint them all red, just the "lip"(machined surface).
Thanks, I'm not even an EE, just a machinist. A machinist, with a hobby in electronics. I work, for a space company.
