After messing up a keyfob battery in my departed 2013 Outback, I was a little cautious about doing the one in my 2015 CX-5 keyless FOB...Turned out to be VERY simple and no brittle plastic to mess with! It takes a CR-2025 (Bought an Energizer 5 pack at Amazon for under $5 delivered!)...Damn Home Depot gets over $3 for ONE!! Note: pays to get a decent brand ie: Energizer, Duracell, Panasonic. Sony and Maxell, never have lasted for me...
NOTE: Amazon rips you off on their fulfilled ones...I got the ones from JG Enterprises on the Amazon site!

Did NOT wait for the existing ones to go bad, since I had no idea of how old they were. The car was produced 11/2014, and sat on the dealer's lot until 4/2015, when I bought it.
Anyway it took me about 90 seconds, most of which was used in opening the new blister battery pack(yawn). Happily no re-programing was needed. I always wipe off both sides of the battery and use care not to get fingerprints on the battery surfaces!
Found a nice a Youtube video that shows how to do it!
