What you have to do is on your phone go to settings, then Bluetooth then click the little... I... next to your Mazda and then allow notifications. Then you have to reset the connection by disconnecting and reconnecting.
Then it works! Hope this works for you all with iOS!

It's not a fix, it's just an extra setting on iOS devices.
On Androids, when you pair bluetooth devices, it gives you an option right away what you want to use with it, Phone Audio, Media, Notification, etc.

This is not an 8.3 "fix" this has been around for a long time - I believe since iOS 6.

No issue, it's just not a fix, nor specific to an iPhone 6, nor specific to iOS 8.3. I had to do this on my iPhone 5 two years ago.
