iStop - from iStopped to off?

If I am a bit slow switching to park after coming to a full stop, iStop kicks in and turns the engine off. If I switch to park and push the start/stop button it starts the engine, and I need to push it again to stop. Is it possible to go from iStopped to off without starting the engine? This is with the 2016 model.

(Sorry if this is a stupid question, I tried finding it in the manual but with no luck. As a side note, with all the warnings and notes the manual is not all that readable).

Can't you just push the button without stepping on the brake pedal to shut off the rest of the car? The car should only start when you're depressing the brake pedal. Sorry I have a 2013 and don't have all those fancy add-ons of later models.
