Fog light adjustment

Did a search and didn't find this:

How do you adjust the fog lights up/down?

On my CTS it had a screw hole recessed on top of the fogs that let you adjust them up/down with a hex key. I didn't see anything like this when I looked. Is it on the back side, or behind the shroud?

thanks.

The adjustments are on the foglight bracket using two bolts in slotted holes. Loosen, swivel foglight to desired aim, and tighten. I do not know if it can be accessed with the bumper on. My RX-8 uses the same foglights and it requires removal of the bumper to access the bolts on the bracket.

I think I can get to it behind the wheel well - I had somewhat full access when I installed the new bulbs earlier. I just didn't have time to adjust, they're far too low for my liking right now.

Thanks, I will look!

I have adjusted mine. There isn't a lot of adjustment. You can remove the lower underbody panel with a screwdriver or panel popper tool and 8mm socket/ratchet. Once you can access the fog light assembly, there is a release bolt in the middle of the adjustment channel. however, the bolt is surrounded by plastic to center it from the factory. You'll have to remove the lock bolt and, using a razor blade or similar, cut the thin plastic away. Then, this will allow the bolt to swivel the fog light up and down.

I'm thinking of just retrofitting some projectors in there. It looks easy enough with the mount. My CTS before had projectors and the cutoff/beam was very wide and sharp. The CX5 beam is gnarly. Not super important, so I'll spend some time and look at the mounting bracket and order something from theretrofitsource.

I, too, share that idea with you. I have a set of Infiniti FX35 2.5" bi-xenon projector assemblies left over from a project that never saw light, no pun intended. I can only imagine what 2 sets of factory HIDs would look like on a dark road. And bonus if I can get all 4 high beams working in unison. [emoji6]

Yeah my main concern is the stock mounting bracket. I'm going to remove it and see if I can fabricate something to hold a retrofit

It's been too cold (9 now) for me to get out and mod. I'll have to wait until it warms to try it. But, until then here's some lighting porn ...

I'm doing the same thing, but cheaply.
The original's mounting axis, is in an angle and that complicates things.
I had to make some bushings and a bracket, to push the light's axis in the right position.(pictures, are in what did you do today)

I try to do cheaply also when I can. I had these FX35 bi-xenons laying around from an old project so I'm trying to put them to good use. I'll check out your earlier post, I've been away for a bit and got some catching up to do [emoji106]

They probably are. I've never taken mine apart since they are the active turning versions as well.
