Just saw this CX-5 Cargo Liner / Mat

No experience with them, looks nice but seems harder to clean between all the cracks.

Other members have been using the cargo liner + cargo tray for extra pet protection in the cargo area.

That's what I've got. The soft liner is a sort of tarp like material which seems to be very tough. Plus, it has a nice flap at the rear that you can lay over the bumper for protection while loading/unloading.

My concern with the leather version is that it looks like a very thin leather over some kind of padding-- you can see it crumpling in the vid when the rear seats are brought upright. That sounds like it could be easily torn when subjected to claws. The OEM soft liner sits directly on the carpet, so there's no "give" to allow for puncturing. If you want softness for a dog, I'd get the soft liner and put something over that-- something cheap, replaceable and washable.
