Fuel Capacity Wrong?

2015 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD
So I just got a 2015 CX-5 2 weeks ago. I had my first fill-up yesterday. According to the trip computer, I had only 10 miles to go before I ran out. I know that's not 100% accurate by any means, but.... I filled it up and it only took 13.362 gallons. Surely there were less than 2 gallons left since it said only 10 miles to go? Could the stated fuel tank capacity (15.3 gallons) just be wrong?

I had a 2005 Mazda 3 and always believed the capacity stated in the manual was wrong on that too. I had the car for 7 years and never put in more than 12.5 gallons, but it supposedly held 14.5. And I do habitually run my tanks very very low. No lectures on that please. (whistle)

I think this topic has been discussed here before.

Sorry. I searched several different forums as many ways as I could think of and didn't see anything. I couldn't believe I couldn't find anything to be honest!

Thanks for the help!

No problem! it's often really hard to find stuff on forums.
Enjoy the CX-5 and welcome to the forum!

Yup, filled up today - put in 12.8 gal for 410 miles travelled ~32 mpg.
Range said "O" just before that. That's 2 gallons remaining.
I like the reserve - reminds me of motorcycles or yore' that had petcocks
