Only problem with my new CX-5 was that rear wiper squeaked when activated. Figured I'd fix it rather than take it in. Here is how:
o Pop off plastic piece covering wiper shaft.
o Loosen nut on wiper shaft. (could not pull wiper off)
o Apply gear puller to wiper to break free from shaft
o Rubber boot now exposed and can see where its rubbing on shaft.
Lubricate with silicon grease and reassemble.
It was easy except for pulling wiper loose. Don't think I could have popped it off without a gear puller. Be careful puller isn't contacting glass or it could crack it while turning bolt.
There actually was lubricant grease there, but had been applied way below where boot contacts shaft. I just moved grease to where it would work.
