Hey there I'm thinking of getting winter tires for my cx5. I have 17 inch aftermarket rims that I had on a 2001 protege. Do you think they will fit on my 2014 cx5?? They are 5 bolt pattern

They won't fit. The 2001 Protege has 4 lugs.

No it actually has 5.

They should fit, since both vehicles use the 5x114.3 bolt pattern.
