Dealer Paint / Interior Protection

A couple of questions about paint protection.

Did anyone buy the rear film paint protection option? If so, can you tell there's a film on there? Does it look durable enough to last a few years?

Did anyone get offered a Simoniz exterior paint and interior seat car package for like $450? Did any of you buy it? I did not as it seemed kind of gimmicky. Just wondering what it is they put on there and if it actually protects your vehicle from anything. Or is it more of just an insurance plan and they hope you never come back in for a repair.

I had a tint shop apply a custom cut piece of film to my bumper for $55. You can hardly tell it's there and presumably will last a long time. As for the $450 wax and Scotchguard offer, it's a great way to throw money away. You can accomplish the same thing yourself on a Saturday afternoon for about $15.

The Simoniz thing is a really bad deal. Go buy a can of Scotch Guard and spray your interior. Then wax your car to help protect the paint. $450 is pure cash for the dealer.
