CX-5 Sand

I've taken mine (AWD Touring) on the sand at Pismo Beach, California. I didn't venture too far off of the packed/wet sand at waters edge, but certainly didn't have any problems above the waterline. Didn't get into anything really deep or soft, but it moved about just fine in the softer sand above the high tide line.

bump. has anyone since I posted this taken there CX-5 in sandy conditions like in this youtube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vLQFnpGRamM#!

For lengths of up to 300 metres? Although reasonably soft on top the sand is still has what I'd consider a firm base. They're about to test the oil levels and temperature sensor to see if it's giving false positive errors, but prior to agreeing to that he started quoted extracts from the manual and saying this is how the car is meant to behave. I agree that is correct, but less than 300 metres on sand like in the clip...come on! hardly what I'd consider an AWD.
