Hello

Does anyone here have a dog which is loaded into the rear (not back seat but cargo area) of your vehicle? We have a small retriever and think he is smart enough/ big enough to jump into the back (cargo space), but I have a feeling he will scratch the crap out of either the bumper, or the rear lip. Is there any kind of leather or material flap people know about that can cover this area up that I can roll up after? I know that weather tech has a ramp, but this is a bit overkill.

I am open to any ideas, thanks!

There is a canvas cargo area cover that includes the kind of roll-out flap you're talking about out there somewhere, but I'm damned if I can remember where I saw it (on the internet). Keep looking.

I will have to head over to the mazda dealership to see an OEM product, their website doesn't seem to show a whole lot.

Thanks!

Thanks Paris1, that is exactly what I am looking for. Interesting how poor the CDN site is in comparison. I also found it on a third party site like 5 minutes ago, but you beat me to it. Thanks!

Wahbooza,
Be careful with some of the 3rd party sites. Their prices might look very good, but the shipping costs are really high. I ordered my CX-5 accessories from http://www.mazdaparts.org/. Their prices seem higher than some but that includes free shipping. I found them to be friendly, helpful and delivery was faster than they estimated. I am also like http://www.autoanything.com/. Great customer service when I made a mistake when ordering weather mats.

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind! I think I plan on making my own bumper protection as I really like the look of the weathertech mats. My local dealer is selling the weathertech mats for slightly less than the weathertech website is, and that comes with the CX5 badges!

Can anyone suggest a reasonable priced place to buy a CX 5 cargo tray in Canada? I am looking at other possible accesories but I need to find the store first.

Hey Wahbooza,

i am from Toronto as well and was in the same situation as you. We drive a 2014 GT and we also have a Labrador Puppy - 1 1/ years, 85 pounds. :)

Bought the OEM Soft Cargo Liner, the same as posted above. Third from the top.

Paid $130 including tax, the dealer had to order it from the States - its not officially sold in Canada.

Its a great product. It covers the back of the seat as well as the cargo area, and it has a flap that folds down and protects the bumper from scratches, from the dog jumping in/out, loading/unloading the trunk. Its great, seems durable - i can highly recommend it!
