Chipped headlight lenses

:
2018 VW Atlas SEL-P
I find the polycarbonate plastic lenses on this car to be cheap - I already have a few rock chips on both lenses with about 4800 miles on the odo. Any one else?

I've looked at replacing both units but each one (Discharge & AFS) cost about $500 online, local dealer price is close to $900 - Very expensive!(pissed)

This is normal and is going to happen. In my opinion, it is easier and less expensive to just ride it out, and when it becomes bad enough, wetsand them back to perfection.
My Speed6 headlamps are terrible now, after 70K miles and 6 years. It is on my to-do list for sure.

I have 19,000 miles on mine and no chips on the lenses. I'm on my 3rd windshield though. A stone on the highway chipped the first and last week I had a cold crack.
