Rear Parking Sensors as an add-on?

CX-5 Sport Manual
I bought a CX-5 Sport manual, no options. Can the rear sensors be added, without the whole rear camera and display? All I really want/need is an audio tone to indicate distance.

You can add rear parking sensors to any car, check ebay. I have been waiting for the parking sensors to appear on the options list, but it does not look they will ever be. So now I will wait for the 2.5L to be added and add the rear sensors on myself.

The sensors are listed in the 2013 Mazda CX-5 Accessories brochure. It is also listed and pictured at accessories.mazdausa.com. Part C851-V7-290.

Anyone have the OEM part installed by a dealer? Or is this port installed?

i inquired about the parking sensors last week at a mazda delearship parts department. after giving them the part number, i was quoted $474.95 just for the part itself.

they are unpainted and are installed on the bumper. from what i can tell you may need to have them color-matched since they need to be drilled on the front and rear bumper like how they are overseas.

correction after seeing mazda gear's info here: http://mazdagear.com/rear-parking-sensors---cx-5.aspx
and the reading pdf installation guide here: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-24809172479195/cx5bumpersensor.pdf

i suppose the part number is only for the rear bumper sensors. since the rear bumper is black, no color matching is needed.

it seems abroad, there is a separate front sensor package as well -which led to my confusion of it being both front and rear in one kit. a link just noting the difference of front and rear: http://mazda-cx5.sgpetch.co.uk/pages/accessories/detail/model=414/category=ROOT-safety/accessory=Parking+Distance+Sensor/id=12695

I read up on the installation instructions. The Mazda kit seems to contain all the stuff necessary, but there is a huge amount of disassembly/mounting/reassembly required. I saw some aftermarket kits for 1/4 the money, but with all that labor it would be a shame to have it not work. I may leave the bumper pristine and just be more careful about backing up until such time as I can estimate where that back ends...
