song title display for CD playback

I am kinda old fashion because I still buy cd's......but I noticed that when playing cd's the stereo system does not recognize song titles....most cars now a days you pop in a cd and the song name comes up on whatever stereo system it is, however this system just says track 1, track 2 etc. Pretty lame technology for 2012. I have the touring model with the in dash touch screen. Am I missing something or is this the way it is???

It could be the way CD was recorded. I put 2 brand new CDs in a couple weeks back, and one had all information displayed properly, but the other was messed up (song title and artist in the same field, no artist name in the artist field). So that depends... try a few other CDs and see if the problem persists.

Try it with a more recent CD. Some CD'sdisplay the song info, some do not.

what about your radio stations??? do you get song titles?? i get nothing.

It needs to be a hd radio station with hd quality (hd light light bright). If you're in the boonies you wont get those stations.
