MPG trip calculator - # keeps fluctuating what gives?

Pearl White AWD GT w/Tech
After about 3 refills, the MPG calculator on my dash keeps fluctuating back and forth. any idea how to fix this?
 
Are you using the instant or avg indicator? The Instant will jump around a lot more than the avg will.
 
Info button on left spoke will allow selection of avg mpg.
 
When i switch to the "AVG MPG" screen, it fluctuates ranges from 69mpg to 15mpg. Whereas when I first purchased the car, it would hover around a tighter range. Is there something I am supposed to reset?

I do reset my "TRIP A" odometer count each time I gas up.

While it's in AVG MPG screen, try pressing the INFO button for 1.5 seconds to clear/reset.

(nothing to do with reseting TRIP A odometer)
 
It gives you the instant mpg. Which fluctuates constantly with throttle position, speed, uphill, downhill, wind, acceleration, etc
