'92 MX-3 with blown BP engine

It's with a heavy heart that I put up for sale the car that I've put my blood, sweat and now tears into. But I have no other choice, so here's the run down.


I just did a fresh BP swap back in September, but last week I had a coolant leak and the engine blew on me. What I can tell you for certain is that cylinders 2 and 3 are dead. That might come in handy if you wanna rebuild this motor. Personally, I'd get another BP, but I'm tight on time and need another car ASAP, and another swap isn't in the cards right now. The pistons looked fine and so do the valves when i removed the head, perhaps it was the piston rings?

About the car, it's a '92 Tropical Emerald Green RS with the BP swap. It has a '92-'93 F series tranny. The engine has about ~95,000 mi. Not sure on the tranny. The body probably has ~200,000 miles on it is pretty good shape for it's age. (the milage cable was broken and I never got around to fix it, was gonna do an electronic swap, which you'll read about in my miscellaneous parts list). Future plans for the car had included doing body and paint (the body is in great shape, though a guy in his SUV side swiped me 3 weeks ago on the highway, just needs bondo in spots here and there and fresh paint, along with the rest of the car). getting new floor carpet and I had wanted to do the suspension bushings and either reupholster the seats or get new ones. Has A/C but no cruise control. Here's a list of the things on the car or done to it.

ENGINE
-All the parts on the engine are 6 months old or newer (thermostat, sensors, water pump, gaskets, belts, engine mounts, etc.) you can swap it on to a new BP....or dare I say BP TURBO!?

-Great shape door weather stripping (picked up the passenger side the other day from a junk yard in excellent shape)

INTERIOR
-Dual subwoofers with amp rated @ 300W
-Ebay short shifter
-Bronzoil shifter bushings
-Nardi Racing steering wheel, NRG spacer, Sparco steering wheel hub, Mazdaspeed horn button
-Tinted windows, hatch glass and both doors

SECURITY
-Avital Model 3300, 1 2-way remote, 1 1-way remote, has microphone to detect shattered glass, loud noises.


MISCELLANEOUS PARTS (extra stuff, spare stuff, or intended to be used for the car)
-Driver side Axle (USED, less than 100 miles on it, the end that goes into the tranny needs to be rebuilt if you needed it for whatever reason)
-2 CV axle boots (NEW, would need one of them to fix the above mentioned axle)
-Fuel Pump (NEW)

-3-spoke OEM steering wheel
-OEM Shift boot
-OEM Shifter
-2 Euro Mini skirts (needs finishing on the bondo and painted, includes NEW, HARD TO FIND mounting pieces)
-Body weather stripping (the one that goes on the body, not on the door, as mentioned, the ones on the door are in great shape, these are NEW from the dealer, the ones currently on the car are descent, you could use these after body and paint)

There's probably a few other things that I forgot about, but I listed pretty much everything. Some of these things I have the original boxes for and I'll give you the receipts for the work or parts I've bought since I had it. Clean title and I have the original owners manual as well. 2 keys are OEM from the dealer (the one that I've used since I got the keys made, the other never used) plus an after market key.


I'm asking $1300 OBO FOR THE CAR PLUS THE PARTS, I'll listen to your offers and hear your questions. I WILL NOT PART THE CAR! The shell of the car is way too nice to do that, but I guess whomever buys the car could do just that if they wanted, I just won't do it myself. ORIGINAL SALE FELL THROUGH.....STILL FOR SALE!!! Found 2 BP engine's in my area, both '94, one from a Ford Escort 60K miles another from a Protege 80K miles, both for $300. I'm seeing stock MX-3's sell on craigslist for $2K and up, mine is upgraded all around, ask me about it!
