OK, stupid question time. What does this mean? I changed the battery in both of the remotes a few months ago but still it flashes.

With the car off and the door locked, I believe that it is supposed to flash like a securtity system to show would be theves that there is a security system.

Assuming your are talking about with the engine running, if KEY flashes and beeps in red, it means the system is having trouble or is not communicating with your card. If it flashes KEY in green, it means the batteries are low. Possible causes for red: bad battery contact on your card, a failed sensor/module in the area where your card is at when the KEY light is flashing, or just a bad card. Also, if you exit the vehicle with the card on your person, and the vehicle is still running, it WILL freak out.

With your engine off the key flashes to show your ignition system is locked and the car can not be hot wired. It is an anti-theft system that prevents hot wiring the car and stealing. It just doesn't have an alarm for doors, windows, etc. Just ignition system tampering.....
