Trip from Cali to Vegas MPG

So my wife and I took our 2010 Touring AWD Cx-9 for a trip to Vegas and we averaged 19 mpg on the tank we filled up on before we left.

Is that a fluke or are people getting the same mpg?

I was cruising the 15 at 80-85 the whole way.

You mean you are disappointed?
If you did 70-75mph, you would get 22mpg at least.

I'm consistantly getting just over 20 mpg just cruising around town. But I live in the "country" with little stop and go driving.

Ours only gets 15.5 -17.5 in town driving, but on road trips fully loaded up, AC on, 80 mph we've averaged 22-23.

At constant speed on flat highways I get around 22 but throw in big hills, traffic or stop and go and things get worse pretty quickly.
I will give kudos to Mazda for the accuracy of the mpg calculation on the trip computer. I check every tank and the computer is always within .5 mpg. This is the best I've seen as other cars I've driven tend to overstate mpg.

Not disappointed at all, I am actually very happy that I bought the CX-9 and not a Tahoe.

I just made a trip from the Wash DC area to NW Arkansas and averaged right around 21.5...went 10mph over the speed limit the entire trip.
