Mazda Demio questions

Hi, I've just bought a Mazda Demio (Japanese import) and was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions for me please.

- Any idea where I can get hold of a vehicle handbook/manual for it?

- How do I stop the woman talking to me in Japanese every time I start the engine?

- What is the black thing underneath the steering wheel on the left that looks like a mini disk player?

That thing that looks like a minidisc player is probably an ETC card holder. The ETC lane is the access to the expressways which allows you to go through the tolls without stopping and paying the teller. That slot holds the credit card and then you get charged directly to that.

The talking in Japanese is probably telling you that your you don't have the ETC card in. I am living in Japan now and I don't understand what they are saying (the talking in the car part), but I do know, that is why you are hearing the talking.

If you talk to someone to detach that card holder, the talking should stop! Lol. You don't need it!
