-------------
Please note: I'll 'clean up this post over time, so the HOW TO WILL
BE HERE SOME DAY AND I'LL ERASE THIS FIRST POST AND HAVE IT
ALL CLEANED UP.
-------------
So, here was an easy mod I did in a week, total time cold have been
one day, but I was taking it slow, have many things going on right
now, few deaths in the family, (Yup three of my wives mom's cousins
dies all within three months of each other, it's been hectic.) work is
busy and it's still freaking hot here in Okinawa, so work'n on the ride
is limited to weekends and spare time when it's not 900 degrees. DOH!
So, lets get started shall we?
1. raise the car on a lift or jacks.
2. remove all that plastic under shield stuff, (You'll put it all back on
later, so don't F-up the screws and remember what parts goes to what.)
3. Pop that front air dam / grill out.
4. Cut out the 'weaved plastic, mesh, what ever you want to call it crap.'
5. Cut the mesh a little larger than the hole, bend into place and make
sure to trim off excess.
6. Once in place and happy it's in the right shape, screw into the plastic
some screws in between the mesh and hold that mesh in place TEMPORARY.
7. Squeeze a good bead of black silicone caulking all the way around the
edges of the mesh making sure it makes contact with the plastic (Original grill)
8. Let dry over night.
9. Take screws out, apply more black silicone caulking to those areas
the screws (and washers needed too) were at.
10. Let dry over night.
11. Go take all that plastic under shielding out again and pop that grill in...
put all that plastic shielding under there back...
Tada!
(Sorry pictures look like crap, but that was with the camera phone and
from my office window, I'll get better ones up laters.)
that is just a start, I'll improve on this thread over time,
have to get to the auto hobby shop and get some better
pics... and better explanations...
Oh I got the mesh from: STARK via CROSS ROADS MAG:
CROSS ROADS MAG
But any mesh you like will do the same.
Peace!(rei)
