What is this??

I bought my CX-9 used and it had some after market accessories, like an add on overhead DVD player. I asked the dealer I bought the car from about some of the customizations, but he said it was an early lease return and didn't know. So now I have 2 things located under the stearing column that I am not sure what they are for.

I have my suspicions about the part located on the left hand side as it flashes blue when the doors are locked, so I am guessing it is related to the alarm system, however there is a button on it that doesn't seem to do anything when I press it??

Then on the right side there is a small red switch with a black and white wire heading towards the navigation / radio unit. I thought maybe it was something to disable the navigation speed sensor or to allow dvd's to play on the nav screen, but not the case. If I switch it one way or the other it doesn't do anything?

Could the red switch be a kill switch for the alarm? Does the car start on both settings?

Good idea, but yeah it starts with the switch in either position.

Looks like it is an fm modulator to allow the after market DVD player to play sound through the radio.
