JDM Turbo 5 - Could a person make THIS?

I just posted in the lounge area and couldn't resist bringing this topic up again. Remember this video of the Mazda5 spanking three other minivans on the Best Motoring course?

Well all the people commenting on that video say that the Mazda5 was powered by a 2.3L turbo. WHAT? I know that the 'Mazdaspeed5' and 'Can I turbo my 5?' questions have been brought up here numerously. But I've never heard any discussion about Mazda JDM having a turbo 5 available right out of the box. Surely this would make converting our own cars easier.

Who knows about the Japanese Domestic Market?

No... The Mazda5 doesn't have turbo... but the Mazda8 does... Same 2.3 DISI turbo on CX-7.

That is incorrect, it has no turbo. If you see the video the Premacy indicates 2.3S and the MPV 2.3T, the MPV has turbo, the other one, NA 2.3L

I remember being excited about this but, ya, never saw anything about it since.

I'm actually really happy to be corrected on this one! It gives me peace to know that I'm not missing out on a bunch of fun someone else is having with their 5.
