Rds ?

We have an '08 GT with the Nav System..............

Does it have RDS on the Radio ?

Some of radio stations here have this because it works on my Titan............

Page 3-83 of owner's manual:

Radio Data System (RDS)
The audio system has a Radio Data System (RDS).
RDS features are available for use only on FM stations
that broadcast RDS information.
With RDS, the radio can do the following:
Seek to stations broadcasting the selected type of
programming.
Receive announcements concerning local and
national emergencies.
Display messages from radio stations.
Seek to stations with traffic announcements.
This system relies upon receiving specific information
from these stations and works only when the information
is available. In rare cases, a radio station can broadcast
incorrect information that causes the radio features
to work improperly. If this happens, contact the radio
station.
While the radio is tuned to an RDS station, the station
name or call letters display. RDS stations can also
provide the time of day, a program type (PTY) for current
programming, and the name of the program being
broadcast.

Playing the Radio
Top Knob (Power/Volume): Press to turn the system
on and off. Turn clockwise or counterclockwise to
increase or decrease the volume.
i (Information): For RDS, press to change what
display while using RDS. The display options are station
name, RDS station frequency, PTY, and the name of
the program (if available).

Oops--sorry, my bad! I meant to pull up my .pdf CX-9 owner's manual, and inadvertently opened and copied text from my .pdf C6 Corvette owner's manual. (bang)

I also have an '08 GT with nav. I've had it for over a year, have never seen any RDS ability, and can't find reference in the owner's manual. Looks like it doesn't have it.

A Google search resulted in several complaints about lack of RDS in the CX-9.

Thanks man...........I figured as much

One more question...........

How do you know if you have a SIRIUS reciever or not ?

I'm not going to spend $350 on the reciever, but if I have one I'll get the membership

Press the SAT button. If you have the receiver you will get a screen about subscribing. If nothing happens, you don't have one. I bought a receiver online from Med Center Mazda for ~$300 and had it installed for $70 at an electronics store....better than the $450 the dealer wanted for the unit.
