Couldn't put my winter tire order through on TireRack.com so I took the opportunity to do some last minute research before calling into place the order by phone. I pulled this from a thread at legacygt.com. It's a comparison table for 19 winter tires tested by a German auto club. Here is the link.
The columns are not translated, but one member of the forum said that this is a loose translation:
trocken= dry performance
nass= wet performance
schnee= snow performance
eis= ice performance
komfort= ride comfort
aussengerausch= exterior noise
rollwiderstand= roll resistance
verschleiss= tire wear
Numerical values are performance ratings. Lower being better (1-best, 5-worst). The more stars the better for overall rating. At the bottom of this article you can see how they weighted each category.
It's an older test but it compares several tires that are still on the market for our cars such as Pirelli Winter 210, Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25, Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2, Continental TS 810, Hankook W300 IceBear, and Nokian WR.
I found it informative and helpful in my ultimate winter tire choice.
