Issue with Blackberry Pearl and Bluetooth

I recently got a CX-9 GT. I have successfully paired my Blackberry Pearl and have made/received phone calls through the bluetooth. My problem is that every time I start the car and the bluetooth automatically pairs with my phone it goes into the phone mode... i.e. If the radio is on, it goes quiet and the displays shows phone in use. I clear the issue by pressing any key on my phone. Then I hear a beep and it exits the bluetooth phone mode.

I wouldn't say it's broken but just really annoying that I have to press a key on my phone everytime I get into the car.

Anyone have any ideas or a better way? Thanks in advance

So you are saying that your calls are automatically transferred to hands-free when you get in and start your car?

no. I'm not on the phone when I get into the car. Don't know if that answered your question.
