Bluetooth duplex?

I am in the market for a new crossover and I am seriously considering the CX-9. I test drove one yesterday but did not have an opportunity to see the blue tooth cell phone system working. In one of the reviews I read, the reviewer noted that the bluetooth cell phone connection is not a full duplex but only allows either listening or speaking but not both at the same time. Also, the reviewer spoke of a half-a-second delay when switching between these two modes, which supposedly made the conversation awkward. Is this really how the system works? What is your experience?

I have had my cx-9 since tuesday. I have not had a problem with the bluetooth however i have taken only a few calls on it so far. The biggest pain is if you are on a call and then get into your car turn it on, the call gets tranfered to your handsfree and there is a delay there. What are the other cars you are considering?

So, if I understand correctly, you can listen and speak at the same time? It is a full duplex then. This is good. I was getting my info from here:

I am also considering the 2008 Highlander. I test drove the Tribeca but felt it was a little small inside.
