Brake and ABS lights turn on for no reason?

On more than 3 occasions this winter, my 2006 dash turned on the brake and ABS lights. I think in one case it turned on while I was driving... and the other times were when I temporarily put the car into park so I could clean the wipers. The only way for me to get rid of it was to turn off the engine and turn it back on. So far it seems to happen only on those days with LOTS of snow (like today). Has anyone else encountered this before?

Probably getting snow in the ABS sensor on the wheel.

Yep happened to me last week and i was so glad not having that damn ABS system working. What a difference with no ABS in snow / ice. I hate ABS in winter.

Didn't happen in the 5 but the ABS light came on in my Baja (Subaru) on a snowy road trip last week. After the ice or whatever it was got away the light went out and all was well. Cruise quit during that time, too.

It happen to me last week when it was -35c. only for few mins.
My MZ5 is only 3 weeks old.

There is an issue with 3's doing this when road salt or snow accumulates between the ABS sensor and tone ring.
Get a underbody flush. Seems to help.
