need help with rim offsets

I'm new to the forum and a new Mazda owner.
Purchased a Mazda 5 that came with garbage 17" Toyo tires.
I'm looking to get 205 55 16 snows and instead of getting black steel wheels have found a nice looking set of 2003 Protege ES rims (16").
I've read on this forum the 17's on the car are 52.5mm offset and the Protege rims are 50mm offset.
Is this anything to worry about? Afterall, what's 2.5mm.
Please help. Thanks

There is a post of a 5 with Protege5 rims in the rim and tire thread. Benfolio has it on his 5. It doesn't look half bad. You shouldn't have a problem going to the 16's....

in some instances 2.5 mm is a very big deal. but on a 5, 52.5 to 50 should be good. you could probably go down to a 42 and still be okay.
