I was reading there are all sorts of extra information the Mazda3 is capable of and wondering if anyone knows of any for the Mazda5?

Sample Mazda3 "Easter Eggs"

To access your dashboards diagnostic mode:
* With the car OFF, press and hold the trip reset button while you turn the key to ON or START. It doesn't matter which.
* Continue holding it until the word "test" appears on year trip/odometer display

From here, press the trip reset button to advance to the next code:

* Code 8 - Shows if lights on/off
* Code 12 - Speedometer test, full sweep, rests at 60mph
* Code 13 - Tachometer test, full sweep, rests at 3000rpm
* Code 14 - Turns on the annoying high pitched dash chime
* Code 16 - Blinks the fuel light
* Code 22 - ??? Mine reads "024" while car is on, "023" when off
* Code 23 - Fuel gauge, full sweep
* Code 25 - Temp gauge, full sweep
* Code ?? - Turns on most of the dash lights. Some don't turn on.
* Code 50 - Displays codes for info display... doesn't seem to be consistent
* Code 51 - ??? Mine displays "12.0" or "11.9"
* Code 55 - ???
* Code 60 - ???

You will need to turn the car off to exit diagnostic mode, or start driving apparently.

All pixels should light up.
Turn radio off to exit.

Each speaker will play in rotation.

I too would be very interested in this. I found all kinds in my VW Passat that I traded in on my Mazda 5. I was hoping for a trip computer or temp sensor (I have manual climate control) or something that would make me go "Hey... cool..."

they're diagnostics tools for use by the Mazda techs. It's in the M5 workshop manual. I haven't read about the any trip computer. The handbook is quite thick..
