Help me find affordable rims/wheels for my MS6

Budget is about $600-800 tops for a set of summer rims for my MS6 (Velocity Red). The stock tires will go on the rims and my stock wheels will be used next winter with snows. I'm looking for 18x8 with an offset of 50mm. An offset of 40-45 might work too but I'm not sure. I'll also consider 18x7.5.

I like silver and/or polished wheels. I have been thinking about installing RX-8 rims but it seems like everyone is doing that and for pretty close to the same price I should be able to come up with a little more "aftermarket" look.

Rota wheels are out. I don't like any of the styles for my car.
ASA AR1 from tirerack are nice but are the high end of my budget.
Kazera KZ-S from tirerack are nice too.
From wheelmax, I like the Exel BK-7, Radius, Ennio, E-22 but I have heard mixed reviews about wheelmax's Exel brand and their customer service...but I see lots of people running these wheels (prolly because the price is great).

What other brands and/or websites should I check out?

Personally, I like my Kazera KZ-V's and it's a popular affordable lightweight wheel among Mazda 6 owners. Though, I'm not too keen on the KZ-S styling but that's just me.

You might want to check Edgeracing.com as well. Last time I checked they had 18x7.5 +45 wheels at around the $150/wheel price range.

Thanks camry, I've seen all those at Tirerack. Basically the ASA and Kazera brands are the only ones that are affordable. The styles are nice but they don't jump out at me.

JDub, Google may be your friend...but it can also be your enemy. There are litterally hundreds of wheel sites out there and most don't give me the details about offset and bolt patterns. They just throw the stock photos on their site and hope someone calls to buy something. I don't want to be presented with wheels I fall in love with only to find out they only come in 30mm offset. Oh, and if you read my entire post you would see that I've already visited wheelmax.

I also looked at Machiii.net because that's where I bought my rotas. Rotas are nice for 15-17" but at 18" their simplicity in design shows through. I want a little more "wow" affect with the wheels. I don't think machiii has anything else on their site that is a) affordable and b) comes in 18x7.5 or 18x8 with +40-50 offset and 5x114.5 bolt pattern.

Raynman, do you have a link to photos of your ride? I'd like to see the KZ-V's on a 6. I'm checking out edgeracing.com now. Looks like they have some good options for 7.5" rims, not to many 8" rims.

They are a nice match for your car/color. I went through the entire rims thread at **********(dot)com and saw your post there a few minutes ago. I've got some more ideas of what styles I want to look for. I definitely want 18x7.5 or 18x8 and an offset that will give it an agressive look after I lower the car (but without rubbing). I saw some nice 17"s in the thread but that would mean I'd have to buy new tires. I will make a post with some of the wheels I came up with soon.

WTF, I can't even write m a z d a 6 c l u b anymore. (stooges)

Ok, so I really have no idea what I want. I like silver and polished designs. I don't want anything with black/gunmetal in the center. I also don't want it to look too OEM one side but not looking out-of-place on the other. I listed some 18x7 wheels from 5zigen but I don't think I want 7" wheels so those are just there because I liked the design.

Now to narrow things down. Any input would be great.

I like (for what it's worth):

The Rota Torque is prolly the only rota wheel I would consider for the car (I actually found a nice photo of someone elses). However I'm not sure I like their silver or hyper silver. Which reminds me, what is "hyper silver" and "hyper black"? Is it a special process? Is it frosted?

Thanks for your picks jdub. Figures you pick the 7" wheels.

I'm really leaning toward the Exel BK-7s but I want to find some photos of some of my other pics on cars (manufacturer photos can often be deceiving).

I've seen someone post pics of a velocity red ms6 with the rota torque in a dark color, don't remember where I saw it or on what forum though.

I really like these ones for some reason:

I think gun metallic would look nice on red.. it has a bit of a brown-ish look to it from the pics, I think that may be the difference between it and the hyperblack. hyperblack always looks glossier too. I know when my wheels (exel gunmetal) are dirty they do have a bit of a bronzy color hiding in them, and it looks horrible since my car is silver :p so I have to wash them a lot

No gunmetal/black. I'm just not a big fan of it. Thanks for the link Chris, I had seen that before and its one of the reasons I don't want a dark rim. It just blends in too much. Granted it looks fine when dirty but I want something that will stand out.

After some more image searching I'm beginning to see why the 5zigen Gravis is more expensive. It is gorgeous!

On a Mazda5...

Of course Edge Racing is out of stock for the 18x7.5+48. Do you think 18x7.5+43 would work? I do plan to lower the car. I guess it depends whether I want to put 225s on the wheels later. I mean $206/wheel is on my high end but I can probably swing it.
