Power to Navigation Tray

Has anyone run 12volts to the navigation tray. Would like to install a Garmin GPS which would get its power from inside the tray.

Any hints would be appreciated

I have run 7 volts to the navigation tray, same thing. I drilled a hole in the back and stuck my wires through it.

I ran my 12 volt line from the extra slot in the fusebox (for a rear-window wiper) to power a radar detector. The parts stores sell the piece that drops into the fuse box. It was really easy. If you do a search for installing radar detectors, there are pix and instuctions.
