Just had the Mazdaspeed CAI installed, and it is amazing! The sound is great. It's just loud enough to be heard when the strereo is off and the windows are closed, but not too loud to overpower the stereo.

Here are the pictures I took of before and after the install. Not only does it sounds great, but it looks great too.

Yeah, I'm a second year. Hopefully my coop will start this summer. You go to RIT too? What year are you?

very cool.. I'm a third year but I haven't technically started my third year.. I've been on co-op since June.

Ordered it through the local dealer for $375. I'm sure if I looked around first, I could of gotten it for a lot cheaper. Try looking on some websites. It'll probably be cheaper if you order it online.

I'm wondering something, has anyone looked at the cai for both the speed and the i model, I realize the one for the speed has speed written on it, but other than that would it not be the same?

Just wondering if the difference in cost is there just for the name sake.

I'll say 99% it can't be the same.. intake on the speed has to go to the turbo (exhaust) side of the engine to mate with the turbo.

What a coincidence. Yes, I was. I was happy to see another Mazda parked next to mine, when I walked out.

Don't worry about the dirt. I can't seem to keep my car clean for more than a day in Rochester.

Does you CAI have a bypass valve?
Will your dealer warranty a hydrolocked motors?

Nope, the BOV is the stock one already installed in the car. Also, they won't warranty it if it's hydrolocked. Most other problems, they won't have a problem with, though. As long as your not driving through foot deep puddles, you shouldn't have a problem.
