Rear Lift Gate Spoiler

Just a quick question. My M5 came with the Popular Equipment Package which has something called a Rear Lift Gate Spoiler. So my question is this; is that the little piece that comes of the rear hatch of the M5. If so, i've seen other models that did not have the Spoiler on the sticker but had that little piece on the back of the hatch (right above the rear window). Just want to make sure i got everything i paid for. Thnx

Not 100% here, but my MZ5 didn't come with the liftgate spoiler but there is still a trim piece there that "finishes" the back of the roofline. From what I have gathered from pictures, however, the actual spoiler looks much the same but just extends farther out over the rear window. HTH.

I think thats the same piece that i have seen on all the other models. Mine does not look at all different then those though. I called mazda but they were really no help at all. They have no pics on the website of the spoiler either. HHMMM.....guess i'll just have to watch when more M5s hit the lot and compare.

I have only seen one Mazda5 without the rear liftgate spoiler, and that was at the dealer, a 5 speed sport base model no options.

Here is a picture off of a Mazda 5 accesories folder that shows the spoiler.

Here's a picture of my Mazda5 Sport AT, with no spoiler. If you have no spoiler, this is what the back of your car will look like:

The piece above the rear glass is flush with the glass...it doesn't stick out backwards at all.

Also, the Mazda5 accessory spoiler picture that is shown in this thread does NOT look the same as the standard spoiler that comes on the Touring models or as part of the Popular Equipment package for the Sport models. There appear to be 2 spoiler designs for the Mazda5.

Here's my factory Touring 'spoiler'. It's actually a molded part of the liftgate, not a stick on or bolt on piece.

Spoiler GT Fit (GS option)

Heya

My GS is not with Spoiler in Canada. It is an optional addition as I will do in near future (it is held on with 4 screws). The GT model comes equiped with this spoiler as a package deal.

Cheers

Hey guys,

I know this is a really old thread... and I knew there were 2 types of spoilers for the Mazda 5 but the only one I had seen in-person up until today was the GT version (where it's actually a one piece moulded end to the liftgate). I had never seen the rear liftgate spoiler add-on (the screw on version) until it drove past me this morning.

The only picture I found of it was from this post at this link http://www.finishlineperformance.com/mazda5/spoiler.jpg

Coould anyone share pictures of this spoiler from different angles? It didn't look to bad when it drove by my today. I'd really like to see it again especially from the side of the car just to get a better idea...

Thanks.

i dont think its aftermarket.... they actually offer it on the official candian mazda site as an accessory...

scroll to the last page... and you can see it on the bottom right hand side... it says rear roof spoiler GS model only...

but it has the same angle for the picture... i want to see it from other angles (especially from the side of the car)

It isn't quite what you're looking for but it gives you other options for rear spoilers.

Thanks Anthony.

I actually saw that GB on there already. I'm part of that forum as well. I find those ones to be a little bit oversized for the Mazda 5.

Still hoping someone can post some pics of the alternate add-on OEM spoiler for the MAZDA5...

I agree with your 'oversized' comment....They are a tad big for the Mazda5.
