I pulled this from the Supra forums

Please find attached the text of an email on this protest from the protest organizer. It seems he has more information than I have been able to get on this recently. All replies should be copied to him.

Thanks,

There are two sections of good news I would like to update every one with.

SECTION 1

I talked to Ted McMeekin this morning for about an hour and a half on Bill
241 and the section we are worried about.
His research into the section is that they only want to block NOS and
nothing else. My question back was why doesn't it just say NOS and be done
with it. He said he didn't know. I asked him what would we have to do to get
that changed. He said that nothing will happen with it until the
LA(Legislativ Assembly) goes back to work. I also asked him if there was a
schedule as to what bills will get looked at when so we would know what the
time line was. He said that he didn't think that the LA was going to look at
any Bills as he is fairly certain there will be a call for a provincial
ellection. If that happens ALL current Bills on the table will be put on
hold and if a new party is elected all previous Bills will be thrown out. If
the same party retains power then all the previous Bills will have to get re
submitted for First readings. This is very good news. They may squash it
themselves.

We then shifted to what happens if there is no election or the Bill gets
redreafted and submitted as is. He said if that happens then we should
contact the minister of Transport and submit petitions to him and call him
and email him and mail him with our concerns. He said it would also be a
good idea to send copies your own local MPP.

Then we shifted onto what happens if it goes through unchanged. If that
happens a commite will get appointed by the minister to discuss exactly what
items will be banned from street use. I said I thought it was just NOS, why
the committee. He explained that for anything of this nature a committee is
made to decide what things would be included. Iu said Who's on this commite.
He said usually at least one MPP from each party is on it. I said can a
normal person be on a commmite like this. He said not usually but for some
things normal folks have been allowed to be a part of the committe. He felt
that if there was enough public support to warrant someone other than an MPP
on the committe it would happen.

What does all this mean. Well I think we need to shift our focus a little
and play a bit of a waiting game. My feeling is we need to first wait out to
see if there is going to be an election called. If no election is called we
need to get on the horse fast and try and get this bill ammended before it
gets submitted for the second reading. If we fail there we must try and get
someone on the commite to decide whats banned and whats not banned.
Personally I would love to be part of such a commmite, but maybe someone
else would be a better fit.

Onto good News Number two

I sent an email out to Mojo Radio to request to be on the Guy's Garage spot,
and here are some snippets of the email.

I've chatted with the Ministry of Transportation a couple of days ago about
this bill...the main thing the gov't is looking at is banning nitrous oxide....I will stay on top of this, because I think it's.....I have
a request in for an interview with the Minister, and would
like to have you guys on my show in March or April...I will definitely mention your protest however on my show on Feb 15th...

This is great new's and I would like to thank Mojo Radio for the support, I
think everyone should send a thank you email to Mojo thanking Johnny B. for
his support.

What does all of this do to our plans for the protest on Feb 17'th? Well I
think the best thing to do would be to wait with the protest in a holding
patern until we find out what happens in regards to an election. The LA is
scheduled to come back from break on March the 17'th that gives us lots of
time to garner more support for a possible vehicle protest. I think we have
to really buckle down and focus on getting the above things done so we can
be prepared to give em what for if this Bill doesn't get fixed. It could
turn out that this Bill gets squashed by an election. Anyway I welcome
anyone that gets this to forward this info on and post it in everyone forum
and speed shop you go to.

Thanks again for your ears.
Keep me posted on any info you get and I'll keep you posted.
