I found this article about the car.
http://www.motortrend.com/jan01/mp3/mp3_f.html

Read this part:

The Protg MPS is all about style and features, but the business end of the subcompact is also impressive. In place of the 1.8L/122-hp Protg ES engine, the MPS gets a 2.0L twin-cam four with a recalibrated powertrain control module, free-flowing K&N air filter, revised intake manifold, and Racing Beat cat-back exhaust system-for output totaling up to an impressive 150 hp.

150HP???? K&N filter with revised intake manifold

What do you guys think??

Really old article...

at first Mazda and Racing Beat had hinted the MP3 to be 150-160 hp.. but they scraped the full catback / filter / intake / cams they wanted to change..

THey don't undersatnd how dumb a move that was, because i'm pretty sure most of us MP3 owners would have paid more for our car if it was 160 hp instead of 140. :)
