W wongpres Member : Ti. Grey Mazda3 GT GFX Jul 26, 2005 #2 It's the same engine, along with the Mazda6 4-cylinder as well, but the engine is tuned differently in every application. The key difference with the Mazda5 application is a broader torque band lower in the rev range.
