We have another spring supplier! Vogtland Mazda5 Sport Springs (-1.6)

:
2008 Mazda5 GT
I checked their site when I first looked into getting the Mazda5 and they did not offer anything. I was looking to see what kit springs they offer that might go with the BCs and, while browsing around and to my surprise see they now offer their sport springs (no race springs or coilover systems) for the Mazda5.

I had Votgland springs paired with AGX for a while. I would say they are stiffer than H&R (note: never ridden on H&R, only basing on what I’ve read and my gut feel so I may be wrong) and Eibach; these two seem to offer a stockish ride with some drop. I would say this is more like Neuspeed, if you are familiar with them. Absolute German road feel. They focus more on industry spring manufacturing but check out their Motor Sports presence. They don't seem to focus/market much to consumers. They supply(ed) springs for NASCAR #24 (not a big fan of NASCAR but fan or all motorsports and definitely Jeff Gordon, full list http://www.vogtland-na.com/Nascar.asp). They do a lot of partnering with Koni. They supply the spings and source Koni dampers in their coilover kits and vice versa from Koni. They are definitely not top tier like Moton or Ohlins but rather in the same tier as H&R/Eibachs but even sportier. Made in Germany and lifetime guarantee <-then again, other then the $50 stuff, what springs aren’t lifetime. Just don’t try to run these with ANY KYB or OEM shocks. They should pair very nicely with Koni Yellows or Bilstein Sports, IMHO. Now if only Tokico would step up and offer us an affordable damper solution that can undercut Koni and Bilstein…

Sport Springs

VOGTLAND sport spring sets made in Germany give your car improved dynamic handling, better cornering and a dynamic appearance. This means better appearance with maximum driving comfort in normal operation and sporty, progressive tuning at the operating limits. The special driving dynamics are achieved by the innovative spring design.

Lowering from 30, 40 or even 60 mm is possible. You can choose between this range of different sport spring sets. The lower center of gravity provides greater handling and increases driving fun.

The reduction of the spring travel demands a specific spring characteristic, derived from Motorsports. The VOGTLAND-Compound-Spring consist of two different spring rates: a starting and an end rate. These are specially calibrated for every car model balanced and interacting characteristics stand for a well-balanced driving comfort and more sportive dynamics.

EDIT: I guess Vogtland has been brought up here before and on sale too. If this sale comes back, I'm game.

I have run these springs on a couple of my old VWs with Bilsteins. Never had a problem. Good to have another choice.
