I just helped my daughter buy her first car a 2011 Mazda CX-7 2.3. Sounds fine drives decent over all. Slow on the acceleration but I thought that maybe good for a new driver. After a couple times out with it I have smelled some oil burning found some leaking on tops of the motor near the fill. I think it’s coming from the connector next to it Vvt? From my google searches. The other thing is the engine doesn’t show overheating but the engine compartment is hot. The side wall metal is hot to the touch. I’m very capable of doing a lot of the work but diagnostics is not my strong suit. Thanks for any help.
